Every year many Indian students study MBBS abroad because government seats at home are limited and private college fees are high. Done right, it is a legitimate path to practising medicine in India. Done wrong — at a university or programme that does not meet National Medical Commission (NMC) rules — it can leave a student with a degree that does not qualify them to practise in India.
At our Vashi office, we help students and parents in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai check eligibility, compare countries and universities on the factors that matter, and complete admission and visa paperwork.

Under the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, a foreign medical degree is accepted for practice in India only if the programme meets these conditions:
Foreign medical graduates must pass the licensing exam prescribed by the NMC (currently FMGE, which is to be replaced by NExT) and complete a supervised internship in India before full registration. Rules are updated from time to time, so always check the latest NMC public notices before admission.
Fees are only one factor. We help families compare:
Students must have qualified NEET UG and generally need at least 50% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in Class 12 (40% for SC, ST and OBC candidates). Individual universities may set additional requirements.
NEET UG result, Class 12 marks and passport status.
NMC-compliant options that fit your budget and preferences.
Submitting applications and obtaining the admission letter.
Preparing the documents required for the student visa.
Travel, accommodation and what to expect in the first months.
Yes. Under NMC rules, an Indian student must qualify NEET UG before taking admission abroad for the degree to be accepted for practice in India.
It is accepted only if the programme meets the NMC's Foreign Medical Graduate Licentiate Regulations, 2021, and the graduate passes the NMC-prescribed licensing exam and completes the internship required in India.
It varies widely by country and university. Ask for a full year-by-year breakdown including tuition, hostel, food, travel and insurance before deciding. Our country pages list typical costs for each destination.
Yes. NMC rules require the course to be taught in English.
There is no single best country. The right choice depends on NMC compliance of the specific programme, budget, clinical exposure and the student's comfort with the climate and culture. We help families compare these side by side.
