University of Petroleum And Energy Studies, Dehradun popularly known as UPES Dehradun was established in the year 2003 by the UPES Act of the State Legislature of Uttarakhand. UPES is approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The university is accredited by NAAC with a Grade ‘A’. UPES has 2 campuses in Dehradun, namely UPES Bidholi and UPES Kandoli.
