Somaiya Sports Academy, established in 2019 is a private institute affiliated with Somaiya Vidyavihar University, Mumbai and approved by AICTE. It is accredited by the All India Football Federation to have 3 teams in the Hero I-League. It also holds the accreditation from the Mumbai District Football Association. The institute is in the process of roping in the Sports Authority of India, as the knowledge partner. Somaiya Sports Academy caters to individuals who aspire to compete at a high level and provides world-class coaching with internationally certified coaches in all sports. The Sports Academy offers B.Sc and M.Sc courses in Sports and Exercise Science at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels respectively. Additionally, it also offers Ph.D. in Physical Education and an MBA in Sports Management. Admission to the courses offered will be done based on the candidate’s performance in the previous qualifying examination. Somaiya Sports Academy currently focuses on coaching in 12 sports. Last year, 3816 students took credit and non-credit courses, 1456 students were trained for competitions and 6059 students took part in various sports events.
