R.V. College of Architecture (RVCA) was founded in 1992, having begun as the architecture department of R. V. College of Engineering (RVCE), Bengaluru, and moved to a new building in 1995. In 2009, the department gained autonomy and changed its name to R.V School of Architecture. The Council of Architecture (COA), India, approved the renaming of the institution as R.V. College of Architecture. It moved to a new campus in Belagavi, Karnataka, in 2014 and is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). It is well known across the world as a center for academic achievement in the fields of urban planning and architecture.
