National Institute of Design (NID), Vijayawada is one of the top institutes for Design Education in India. Established in 2015 in Andhra Pradesh, NID Vijayawada is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. It is the second autonomous multi-disciplinary design institute established under the aegis of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India. Also referred to as NID Andhra Pradesh, the institute is also the first NID to be set up in accordance with the National Design Policy after NID Ahmedabad.
