Manonmaniam Sundaranar University offers correspondence courses through the Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education (DDCE) with the aim of broadening access to higher education in the country. The Tamil Nadu based university was established by the State Government in the year 1990. The university is recognized by both NAAC and UGC. It has 66 affiliated colleges, six university colleges, and four constituent colleges under its jurisdiction. DDCE Tirunelveli offers 25 undergraduate (including PG Diploma and Certificate courses), 28 Post-graduate, and Ph.D. courses.
