Established in 1937 as the University of Travancore, it was one of the 16 universities in India and 1st in the state of Kerala. Kerala University is recognized by UGC and is the only university in Kerala that has been accredited by NAAC with the highest grade of A++. It is also ranked 24th among the top universities in India and 47th in overall category by NIRF 2023.
