IIT Palakkad, often known as IIT PKD, is a public autonomous engineering and research institute in the Kerala town of Palakkad. IIT Palakkad's permanent campus site in Kanjikode sprawling over 504 acres of land. IIT Palakkad is currently operating from both of its temporary campuses. IIT Palakkad is ranked 69th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2023. Established in 2015, IIT Palakkad offers BTech, MTech, MSc, MS, and PhD programs and among all, BTech remains the flagship program of the institute. Admission to the course is done based on the JEE Advanced cutoff, followed by JoSAA counseling. Admission to the program requires a JEE Advanced general rank of 5162-16487. The first-year fee for the IIT Palakkad BTech program is INR 2.91 Lakhs. During the IIT Palakkad 2023, the final placement secured a placement percentage of 90.28%. About 130 students were placed among the 144 registered students. The average compensation package was INR 13.95 LPA, and the maximum salary package was INR 46.15 LPA.
