Established in 1860, Harish Chandra Post Graduation College, Varanasi often abbreviated to HCPGC was started by a non- profit organization to impart education to locals. Initially starting with a high school, it now has courses up to post-graduation. The college is affiliated to M.G Kashi Vidyapeeth Varanasi. It provides education in 5 domains namely, Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, and Law at under graduation and numerous specializations at postgraduation. The admission to these courses is carried out by entrance exams. It started with 5 students, now it welcomes 2500+ students each year for their various programs. Apart from academics, the college has NCC and NSS programs to incorporate discipline and social work in students through these certificate courses.
