Gujarat Biotechnology University is the World’s First Biotechnology University established in 2018 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The institute is funded by the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat. The university offers an M.Sc. in Plant Biotechnology, Animal Biotechnology, Medical Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, and Environmental Biotechnology and a Ph.D. programme in full-time mode only. Admission to both of these courses offered by Gujarat Biotechnology University is based on merit in national-level entrance examinations like GAT-B, CUET PG, UGC-NET, etc followed by a personal interview round. The institute has collaborated with the University of Edinburgh for academic policies, infrastructure, facilities, services, research and innovation, and industry-academia engagement. The Gujarat Biotechnology University campus is spread over an area of 28 acres.
