Government Polytechnic Rohru at Shimla, Himachal Pradesh was started first with diploma in Electronics & Communication. Then, in the year 1992, diploma in pharmacy was started. The Institute is approved by AICTE for diploma in engineering courses and for diploma in pharmacy, it is approved by PCI. The institute is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board. The academy system for these two courses differs: Electronics and communication engineering has semester system, while the pharmacy has annual system. For the admission, a nominal fee of INR 10,179/- is fixed by the state government.
