University of Delhi, popularly known as Delhi University or DU, is a public central university located in New Delhi, India. Established in 1922 by the Act of the then Central Legislative Assembly, it is a unitary, teaching, and residential University, with 3 colleges and 750 students. Now, Delhi University has grown as one of the largest universities in India with 16 faculties, over 80 academic departments, 91 affiliated colleges, and over 7 lakh students. The university has two campuses located in North and South Delhi and is coming with two new campuses in East and West Delhi. DU is recognised as an “Institute of Excellence” by the UGC and accredited by the NAAC with an ‘A+’ grade. It has been ranked 6th under the University category and 15th under the Overall category in NIRF Rankings 2024.
