Bengaluru North University came into existence in 2015 following the trifurcation of the former Bangalore University. Also referred to as BNU Karnataka, the institution has several affiliated colleges under it. BNU is recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited with C grade by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The University offers postgraduate courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Education, Social work, and Library and Information science. The admission procedure is based on merit in the previous qualifying examinations.
