Balagarh Bijoy Krishna Mahavidyalaya, affiliated to the University of Burdwan, was established in 1985. It is named after revered Late Bijoy Krishna Modak, the noted fredom fighter, renowned educationist and life long social activist. It is presently running with the 3 streams- arts, commerce and pure science with honours courses in Bengali, History, Accountancy and Mathematics.
