AIIM was established in 2003, in a self-contained fully residential and picturesque campus in Daivappura at the foothills of Ponmudi. The Institute was founded by Iqbal College Trust in the year 1964. The Trust and its Educational Institutions are named after the great Patriot, Philosopher, and Educationalist, Sir Dr. Allama Mohammed Iqbal. AIIM is affiliated to the University of Kerala and approved by AICTE and Govt. of Kerala. The Institute is now rated as the 3rd best B-school and the 2nd best industry interfaced B-school in entire Kerala region. AIIM offers Master of Business Administration (MBA) program in several specializations to the candidates.
